Vincent M. Bernard, 1928 - 2015

Haverhill, Mass. -- Vincent M. "Vin" Bernard, noted B&M signal authority, died unexpectedly at his home on December 22, 2015. He was 87. Vin was born in Lawrence, Mass. and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Lawrence, and Northeastern University. He relocated to Haverhill when he married his wife, the late Maureen H. (Sullivan) Bernard. Until his retirement he was employed as an electrical engineer at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. An avid railroad hobbyist, Vin authored B&M Bulletin articles on B&M signaling systems and the West End and submitted many photos and comments to the magazine illustrative of signaling equipment and pratice. He was member of the B&MRRHS Archives Committee. A funeral service will be held at Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill, on Monday December 28, at 11:30 a.m. Friends are welcome to attend.
